My tutoring experiences are vast. In the past, I have volunteered time to help teach underprivileged students, tutored peers on skills related to standardized testing, and spent time teaching English at a university in China. I am enamored with literature, history, and English. As such, I enjoy tutoring them the most, though I do have experience tutoring mathematics as well. Another one of the main subjects that I tutor is test prep, both for SAT and AP tests. I don't teach to a test, as I believe that rote memorization is not the way to instill a sense of true understanding into a student. I want them to be able to problem solve, to be able to understand the big concepts behind the material. I tailor my tutoring to match the learning style of each student that I work with so as to maximize the student's progress.I will soon be starting as an English major at Williams College. When I'm not busy studying or tutoring, I like to watch movies, play video games, read, and play soccer.
